Determination Project Final Results

The Determination project has now finished. The main findings are:
- The developed numerical procedure, using software, for extracting values for the transport properties of potential thermoelectric materials shows promise but requires further development to maximise its usefulness.
- A suitable scale-up route for silicide thermoelectric material synthesis has been confirmed.
- The new proposed n-type material has a thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT) which is comparable to literature reported data.
- The proposed new p-type material is novel and worth further research as this addresses the issues of the lower performing HMS materials.
